About Mel . . .
Most people call me Mel which is short for Melissa. I'm a fairly private person, I tend to keep to myself and a close circle of friends. I live in the northeastern part of the US. We have 3 great kids and 5 fantastic grandchildren.
I rode horses for about 14 years. During that time I met the “barn gang”; a group of girls whose love of horses was no less than my own. We’ve all been friends for over 45 years now. We’re quite the rowdy, silly bunch of people. We tend to say exactly what we think and laugh quite a lot.

Some Things I Like
I used to ski a great deal and I have traveled around the US and Canada quite a bit. I love to read, and in summer gardening is a favorite hobby. I love food and I cook a lot, shopping at the local farmer’s market weekly.
Without a doubt, I am happiest in the woods. There is something about the forest that makes me feel as if I have come home after a long journey. It might be my roots, since I am half Irish on my father's side and part Native American mixed in from my mother's side.
Much of my past time online revolved around free form, text based role-play, also know as RP in some circles. I created and played a variety of original characters; everything from a deaf old man to a unique immortal warrior. My imagination is still filled with images inspired by my past RP experiences, some of which are reflected in my artwork.
On occasion I miss the old time, text based format of RP. I know it is still around. But at this point in my life, if I’m going to spend time writing, it’s going to be devoted to the projects that have been simmering in my imagination for so many years.
My all time favorite movie is Gladiator, and the Lord of the Rings books are still my favorite read. My favorite show is definitely Game of Thrones.
That’s a glimpse into moi, because after all, I am a fairly private person.
